But if we’re being real honest, Jennifer Hudson’s “And I Am Telling You” doesn’t hold a fucking candle to Jennifer Holliday’s.
Like if you want to get in your feelings and really experience the emotion of that song, watch/listen to Jenny Holliday’s version. Nobody does it like her.

Jennifer Holliday wants to tell all of you that she is not going (x)
Sing, bitch!
Everyone makes fun of the faces she makes, but you have to consider that she did this song on a Broadway stage where she had to convey her emotion to the very last row of audience members.
30 years later, you can still feel Effie White’s pain when you see her sing this.

Fun fact: homosexuals only ever text each other lyrics to musicals.
Oh my god, I do this with Dalton.
Well…
Tonight was the second performance of our school musical, and it went very well despite several technical difficulties among other problems as well. Our soundboard has a loose wire, and in the middle of me singing a high note in “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” the speakers blasted as loud as they possibly could. I almost blew the speaker, and I thought it was my fault. But it wasn’t. So yeah. Good show tonight.

This GIF applies perfectly. Haha. I’m conceited :( Love me.
Dreamgirls is my shit right now.
- Mom: ZAK!
- Me: Yes?
- Mom: Get in here now!
- Me: Give me a minute.
- Mom: I said NOW.
- Me: *steps into the hallway and looks at her*
- Mom: Go to the store, and buy some milk. We're out.
- Me: And I am telling you... I'm not going.
Oh, I almost forgot!
I sang “And I Am Telling You” for the choir director, and she wants it in our school musical! So I will singing my dream song on stage, finally!!!!
